Look, I'm a lot like you: I can't tell the difference between Baptists and Saviours in my head, the two bands even having the same goddamn logo in my battered brain and somehow I just end up daydreaming about Coliseum any time I start thinking about either of those two bands anyway , and whenever I listen to one of them I mainly think about what my current approximation of what the other one sounds like is.

End result, no idea, even as I was watching, and very much enjoying, Baptists play live recently let's set the record straight: Baptists are a much more intense hardcore band, while Saviours employ more of a current-Coliseum post-hardcore sound mixed with lots of twin-guitar rock riffing and where the hell is Kurt Ballou? I must admit to being impressed by this feat, since I rarely come across a band that succeeds in carving out such a unique sound from two different sources, yet managing to keep them somewhat reminiscient of their heritage.

And by toning down the energy, Saviour makes Palace of Vision an album that I have an even harder time relating to, being as stubborn and old-fashioned as I am. Jump to. Sections of this page.
